The Shagpile rug depicts a declaration by the A.Nonymous Arts Group:

'We declare Miss Emin as the true Queen of this land as the other one works for a living while Miss Emin can sell worthless items for grossly inflated prices because they are

believed by the purchaser to be Art'

A large crisp poster sized banknote depicting Miss Emin and her now famous bed, complete with convincing looking watermark and silver foil to prevent forgeries!

Please not this is a large printed artwork much larger than a usual banknote. The reverse side is an open letter to her asking her to partake in removing the greed found presently in art by flooding the market with similar renditions.

The Civic Waste Contractor who was prepared to assist in the gigantuan task of recreating 1000 beds was Mr Christopher Williams who has the contract with Richmond upon Thames Council.

Mr Williams studied images of Miss Emins Bed and believed he could easily create Ms Emin’s bed from the daily input from Richmond’s tip, he also thought that if he was to take the items to a market they would not sell for more than £30 but he admitted he would be foolish to retrieve them from the tip as there are better pickings to be had.

Four copies of the £500 note ( Red/Green Purple and Pink) were delivered to Miss Emin via her White Cube Gallery in the Autumn of 2015 with an accompaning letter with contact details, one year on there has been no reply.

Sadly one year on Miss Emin has not replied and the 1000 bed mega sale has now been cancelled......most surprising as we previously believed Ms Emin to be a bit of a rebel....clearly this is not the case.

Interestingly enough the first proof of this note used the Bank of Englands £50 note as its foundation, A.Nonymous then contacted the bank of England to seek copyright consent or even a licencing agreement... they however declined stating that they would never agree to use their artwork for 'Novelty' or 'Satirical' banknotes. Consequently we had to remove all evidence of the BoE £50 note. Despite this they were still not happy....

Whilst we appreciate the artistic effort put into the creation of this image, part of the Bank of England’s role is to maintain integrity in our currency, we therefore could not approve a design such as this that contains words and images that members of the public may find offensive.

In addition, as your design is clearly similar to the overall design of the current £50 banknote, we still believe there would be copyright issues to resolve.

At A.Nonymous Headquarters we are all finding this reply really very surprising and indeed laughable, our dilly-dallying into the world of finance is not ticking their boxes, our humble artwork is seen by them as a threat to their integrity! They also believe that their approval is still needed. We personally think that the Bank of England lost their integrity long ago, by licencing their bank note artwork so it could be printed on tissues so people can blow their nose on the queen's image which would offend the remaining royalists in the country, or allow their artwork to be printed on metal wastepaper baskets - in other word to hold rubbish.

They further lost integrity when siding with the Government and promising to loan small business' money via banks at low rates of interest on the pretext the banks passed on the low interest to the business' (Funding For Lending Scheme 2014) which apparently was only eligble for business' turning over 5 Million a year!!!!*

The Bank of England then claim again that there will still be copyright issues despite our note being 10 times the size, void of their artwork, with a letter on the reverse. This being the case they must be in litigation all the time with numerous foriegn countries who print their own money using a similar style.

In theory, in 50 years time when a £500 note might be issued by the Bank of England due to inflation, we will be able to take out some action for their printing £500 notes.

Becoming a public enemy of the State in the name of art is a new experience, lets see where it takes us....are we looking at a possible injunction, artworks siezed in the near future? Do we need to use the Royal Mail as a secure way to keep them hidden by resending them to ourselves, and collecting on the last possible day, so that thay have less chance of being siezed while being protected by a company associated with the queen?

We had previously offered to give some complmentry BoE versions had they consented, for their Museum, we then offered a 90% discount on the new version, this offer we have now withdrawn due to their present stance.
